Smart 451 brabus 17” with 3 to 5 lug adapters

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to install 17-inch rims on my Smart W451 Brabus, but I don’t want to pay for the original Brabus rims.

I have 3 to 5 lug adapters (5x112, 20mm thick), and I’m wondering if anyone has already done this.

If so, could you please share your setup?

Specifically:

 

• Rim width
• Offset (ET)
• Tire width and profile
• Adapter specs
• Any issues with fitment or rubbing

Ich plane, 17-Zoll-Felgen auf meinen Smart W451 Brabus zu montieren, möchte aber nicht für die originalen Brabus-Felgen bezahlen.

Ich habe 3-auf-5-Loch-Adapter (5x112, 20 mm dick) und wollte fragen, ob das schon jemand gemacht hat.

Falls ja, könntet ihr bitte eure Konfiguration teilen? Konkret interessieren mich:

 

• Felgenmarke und Breite
• Einpresstiefe (ET)
• Reifenbreite und -profil
• Adapter-Spezifikationen
• Eventuelle Probleme mit der Passform oder Schleifen

Hi Mihajlo,

Many Smart drivers have already made this conversion with adapter plates, even with TÜV approval in Germany. Unfortunately, the corresponding forum, where there was a collection of wheel/tire combinations, has been offline for a long time, but I was still able to extract some data via the wayback machine.

 

Data:

• Lowering: H&R 15/35mm
• Rims used: all round Momo Corse Black 7.5x17 5x112 ET48 (subsequently painted crystal white)
• Adapter plates: SCC front 20mm / rear 35mm (possibly 10mm more would be possible in each case)
• Tires: all round summer tires Pirelli PZero Nero 195/40R17 / meanwhile Dunlop SP SPORT MAXX TT of the same size
• Clip-on extensions: no
